What the heck?
So...
This is a club, not like any other club though. There's no requirements of you to "join" it. You actually don't have to do anything at all. If you're reading this that means you're already a part of it.

There's no hierarchy here, no one is better or worse then the next person. Everyone is valued for being exactly who they are and where they are in every aspect of life.

It's hard being a human. A lot of people have nowhere to go to just chill. Even if you do sometimes you have to perform, or there's certain expectations of you to be someone or something. That can be kinda tiring. This group is here so you can learn to allow yourself to just be, without pressure, without expectations. You can participate on your own timing without having to be anything more then a human being.

Because that's enough.

Nothing Club is a space. It's a space to breathe, talk, or be silent. It's space for forgiveness and vulnerability (only if and when you’re ready, on your timing). It's a space to chill. It's a space where you can be recognized for being, without having to prove anything. A place to go to when you have nowhere else. It's a space for unity and community, where you can practice being comfortable talking to other humans you don't know.

But how do I participate?

The easiest way is to participate online with Discord, where you can join chat groups and voice calls to talk and chill.
Here's the link to that

(These chats are unmonitored for emergencies. If you are having a crisis, please text or call 988, or scroll to the bottom of this page and click the big orange phone.)

You can also join our Reddit, which is for sharing stories in a post format, where people can comment and talk under the same post. Reddit is private for now, meaning your account has to be accepted to join. Because our club is just getting started, it's private only to avoid spam and hate, and to respect our participants' voices. But you're more then welcome to join and post.

Here's the link to that

And now, the most exciting part is GroupMe. This is for updates on our in-person meetings in New York City, where we'll be meeting and organizing fun discussions and activities in parks or public city areas. Everyone is welcome to join!

Here's the link to that
Pease note that the GroupMe chat is only for being notified and responding to the notification, nothing else. Discord and Reddit are our main online communities. If you want to talk, talk there, only so we don't overcrowd the GroupMe. This is so everyone can see the notification. Thanks!

what is nothing
And who made this and why?
So, I don't really want the idea of who created this club to mean anything, because we are all the creators of our own lives, and that matters a whole lot more in this club than who created it. But I will tell you a bit about me.
My name is Jackson Frederick Murphy. I'm a young guy who thinks it would be a nice break for ourselves if we could hear other's stories. I understand it feels weird talking to strangers, but when it's a good interaction, you usually feel great afterwords. I mean, we're really all monkey aliens floating on a beautiful rock in an infinite universe. We all evolved on the same planet. That fact should be crazy enough for us to try and get along. I mean, what the heck. No one really knows exactly why we're here, and I think that's pretty cool and crazy. Let's start talking about it more.
That's why I made this club, so we can share that crazy feeling together, and hopefully allow more people to feel less alone in it.
Who I am personally doesn't really matter much right now, but if you participate you will totally get to know me.

Now,
what is nothing?
(It's confusing, but I think it's fun to think about.)
Can you really say what nothing is? Nothing is still something, right? I mean conceptually you could think of nothing, but you're still thinking of something. You could say space is nothing, the void, right. But, there's still space there. Space means there's something to occupy there, so even that isn't "nothing." Time continues for everything. Does that mean time also continues for nothing? Who knows.
At the smallest scale, beyond the concept of small, lies true nothingness. No one can say what it is because it isn't something that can be said; it's something you feel. Once you feel it, life gets weird - in the best way possible.

That's basically the basis of the philosophy of nothing. It doesn't really make sense, and that's the point.
Nothing isn't nothing.
It's everything waiting to happen.

It's mostly about understanding potential. Our potential to understand one another, how nothing can brings us all together, and how there really is nothing in between everything.
How nothing is within us all.

The space beyond space.

It's a philosophy that's still in development (and always will be).

Because nothing is infinite.

And there's always more perspectives to understand.

*RULES

GOLDEN RULE
*Aim to have every conversation lead to the heart, instead of hate.
This space is about openness and understanding, not harm. Hate, harassment, or encouraging harm to yourself or others doesn’t belong here.

Remember, when you're speaking to someone, they're another human being, just like you. Try to be as gentle as you can with them. Speak to them as if you were speaking to yourself.

Understand that other humans have different experiences than you. Those experiences probably shaped who they are today. When disagreeing with someone, try to ask/open up about their/your experiences as a human instead of endlessly clashing over ideas. Debates are healthy, but sometimes they can lead nowhere, so try and lead it to the heart.

Let people have their own ideas. You don't have to try and change them, just accept them, where they are, for who they are. It's easy to spite someone when you disagree, it's harder to accept them, even when you think they're wrong. That's why accepting them is that much more important, for you and for them.

Everything has a feeling attached to it. Ask each other more about feelings instead of reasons. The feeling is the most honest thing someone can express, and usually leads to the true reasons.

Sometimes you might feel like you can't relate to someone at all. That's okay. The only and best reason to relate to someone at all is because they're a human, just like you. We all grew up on earth, we all have to take a shit and wipe it off of our ass, and that shit still smells the same. Remember that.
